A superb early-20th-century 14-karat gold mesh evening purse, commissioned for Tiffany & Co.  The purse features a finely hand-woven drawn-wire mesh body suspended from a heavy 14K frame with rounded rectangular profile, integrated hinge, and a beautifully detailed turret-form ball clasp. The interior frame is stamped “MADE FOR 14K TIFFANY & CO”,  the purse further includes its original 14K gold chain and finger ring, a staple feature of Tiffany’s evening accessories from the period. Crafted with exceptional precision, the mesh is composed of individually formed and interlinked rings, consistent with the finest American jewelry houses of the 1900–1925 era. The clasp, with its engraved sunburst patterning, is a signature form found on documented Tiffany-commissioned gold purses of the early 20th century.
